Dancing and the Baby

Alice M: Just an idea. When you are pregnant, your unborn baby will hear your zills.

Aziza Sa'id: Of course, unborn babies are aware of more than most people realize... could be your baby will have a preference for mid-eastern music..... :-)

Kypris: And to this day, my little one, who is 15 months now, recognizes the music to the choreographies I rehearsed when pregnant, and watches, entranced, while I dance.

Safira: My beloved "goddess daughter" was a very fussy, colicky newborn. I would carry her around while dancing and this would soothe her temporarily. Now that she's a little older, that no longer works--but drumming does, especially since she can play along! (It's a good thing her parents love me, isn't it?)

Zemyna: Keep up your dancing because it will come in handy when you are trying to sooth your baby. Holding the baby on your hip and dancing around gently will help to sooth the little one. Perhaps remind her/him of time in the womb. When baby is a little older s/he will enjoy watching you dance. Seat the baby upright and securely (they wave their arms around a lot in response to seeing you dance) then dance away, even in costume. This amused my kids and kept them happy for a little while.
