Hossam Ramzy

An Egyptian Drummer living in England, Hossam has done a truly remarkable set of work. Lots of arrangements of the work of the great Arabic masters. Very, very danceable. All of these are instrumentals.

Also see his work with Peter Gabriel, Loreena McKennitt, and Page & Plant of Led Zepplin

Sabla Tolo

Very good stuff here... all drum solos, lots of different rhythms - a journey into Egyptian Rhythm

Ro-He

Gamaal Rawhany

El Sultan

Best Of Om Kolthoum

The best Arabic singer that ever lived (ask anyone!) Selections of her best stuff, beautifully arranged, soulfully played.

Best Of Abdul Halim Hafiz

Wonderful! Some of my favorite classical pieces. Lots to dance to.

Samya-Best Of Farid Al Atrash

Another of my favorites! Classical style, very emotional.

Zeina-Best Of Mohammed Abdul Wahab

And yet another of my favorites! Also classical style, very emotional.

Baladi Plus-Egyptian Dance Music

I use this every week in my classes. Great solid rhythms, Baladi, Saidi, Taksim.

Best Of Baladi and Saaidi

2 CD set. Good stuff throughout - very danceable, very useable.

Egyptian Rai

Mostly modern instrumentation and sound, a little bit rock & roll. (2 different covers, same music)

Rhythms Of The Nile

Instructional introduction to a variety of rhythms. Essential for understanding the music and knowing what you're dancing to.

Rhythms of the Nile / Introduction to Egyptian Dance Rhythms

A 2 CD set that includes both of Hossam's drum & rhythm instructional CDs.

Source Of Fire

My current favorite! Wow wow wow! Hot stuff. Some rather jazzy ones, some more traditional sounding.

Ahlamy

Rafat Miso & Hossam Ramzy

Excellent work - some more modern, some more traditional, all instrumental. Rafat Miso plays very sensuous saxophone. Really good!

Best Of Hossam Ramzy

Selections from his other CDs, all very danceable.

Latin American Hits For Belly Dancing

Latin & Mid-Eastern fusion - fun!
