I love this group - they have an energetic North African / Middle Eastern sound that is really fun to dance to... |
![]() Mambo El Soudani Wonderful, fun, energetic, soulful, and danceable stuff on this one too! |

![]() Salam Delta Shanna: Salam Delta - Peace over the Delta, is a danceable, celebration of life's great highs and lows. Salamat, a song of greeting an old friend makes me want to get up and dance around the room. Definetly a party song! Salma sings 4 songs... mostly upbeat, even the "lost love" themed songs, and Nubian sounding (appropriate since she is of Nubian/Sudanese heritage. Farawla, by the same vocalist who sang "Salamat". What a voice on this man. A humorously suggestive song about women who "paint their cheeks red like a strawberry" to be beautiful. Very quick tempo, fun for dancing and shimmying with a heavy "beladi" section in the middle that always gets people clapping. A young star by the name of Ahmed Fathy (12 according to the liner notes) does a great job with two Arabic pop songs on this album, one of which is very danceable. |

Nubian music from the Sudan... Very listenable, some of it could be used for dancing, although it's not really written for that. I reeeeealy like Al Din's voice and simple, emotional style. |
